When is a $10 snow shovel, worth $20 and when is it worth $5

I saw a great headline and had to read the article, “Home’s Value just one ingredient in sales recipe“, and had to read the article.
It made me think of so many things like a recent customer who only wanted to talk rate, in fact so much so she would not even give me enough information to quote her a valid rate.  The fact so many people view the real estate business as a commodity, when they have so much emotion in their homes, and every person, home and deal is different with pitfalls around every corner.  The business is not a commodity, but a very personal, intimate, special situation for each individual and property.
Valuation does not determine sales price or sell real estate.  Real estate is best sold by local professionals.  Local professionals able to tell the difference between a $10 snow shovel, a $20 shovel and a $5 shovel.  A glut of condo’s on the market in one complex and you have a $5 shovel.  Zillow can’t manipulate that into their data, but the local professional can help you to price that condo to sell when you want it to.   Want a $20 snow shovel?  You need the local professional who can help you to stand out in your market and get top dollar.
