Why can’t I fly my flag?
Thinking about buying a condo? The thought of flying the flag of the United States of America with pride is not likely the first thing that comes to mind, but in a way it should. Buying a condo you agree to follow a set of rules that apply to all of the units in the complex.  You need rules and direction for any group to work, and a condo association is no exception.   Well most condo rules outline what can be visible in the public area of the complex from flowers, paint colors, commerical vehicles, and in the instance of the blog linked here, the American flag. Wait I can’t fly my flag at my house, you might not be able to depending on the rules of your complex. That is positively unamerican.
If you are thinking of buying a condo you have a right to review the condo rules and documents as a part of your purchase, your Realtor will help you to do this. Read them and understand what is and is not allowed in the complex. Can you fly the flag? I sure hope you can, but know condo associations, you likely can not.
