Do you want cancer?
I love headlines and this is sure to get attention. Your buying a home and having your home inspection done, and the inspector offers you the opportunity to have a radon test done while he is there. Do you spend the $100 to have it done, or skip it assuming it couldn’t be in your house?
Speaking from personal experience, we had a test done when we bought our last home, even though the area is not usually prone to radon. It was money well spent, elevated levels of radon were found and the sellers paid to install an abatement system.
