Online Property Records
The internet has created loads of great useful things. YouTube, Facebook, MySpace are great but they are not all that useful in using the internet for business. In the mortgage business information is key. There are countless mortgage programs out there from different companies and they all have slightly diffeernt guideless. The internet makes it possible to have up to date information, and have it available instantly. 
We look up telephone numbers, and look at online maps often. Google Earth is incredible with the information it has. Zillow can help us to get an idea of property values when the borrower doesn’t have a good idea, or you feel that the number they think might be a little off.
A service more and more towns are making availbale are online property records. Rather than having to go down to the town hall and look at the paper records, we can search those records from our office, or home. We can get property cards and see all the facts about a house. We can search for items that may have been recorded on a specific property. All of these are big helps. One such site I know of is, official Wake County property search.
I’m sure in time more and more useful services will come to the web. For now I’m excited to have more and more towns making their town records available online. It makes my job easier.
