Connecticut Statewide MLS launched

Digg!

A statewide multiple listing service in Connecticut this week launched a public property-search site that features about 31,000 property listings.  Connecticut MLS Inc., a broker-controlled MLS with about 13,000 members that operates the Web site, posts information about single-family homes, condos and townhouses, multifamily and commercial properties, rentals and land parcels at the site. Connecticut MLS is the official statewide MLS of the Connecticut Association of Realtors trade group, and CTreal.com is the group’s official Web site. The MLS began operating in February 2007.

I liked the searching functions available.  You can look for listings, closed sales, and open houses.  Very cool.  I can look to see what things have sold for.  There is a map search tool where you can draw a line around the area you want to search in, perfect for searching “neighboorhoods”, rather than whole zip codes like all to many other sites require.  The first property I found had the “address withheld upon request”.  Seems a tad silly to do.

Having one place to search all the local listings I think will be a great resource for home buyers.  Stop by and check it out today.  CTreal.com
